Lower Level Renovations
House Office Building, Florida State CapitolTallahassee, FL
- The lower level of the House Office Building was renovated to create one large meeting room seating 208 and two other smaller meeting rooms seating 77 and 51, to handle the increasing need for committee meeting room space. Because of the increased occupant load, two new stairs were installed for exiting. One stair opens to the exterior and leads up to the plaza level, while the other interior stair connects the lower level to the elevator lobby on the plaza level.
- All meeting rooms are equipped with state of the art telecommunications including teleconferencing, audio and video recording capabilities as well as broadcast via Florida Public Television.
Mahogany wood trim with traditional detailing adorns the columns and meeting tables portraying permanence and the institution of state government.
